Vocax is a dynamic, youth-led vocational training and entrepreneurship centre committed to empowering underserved communities through practical, non-formal education. We specialise in equipping young people, women, and refugees with marketable skills, entrepreneurship knowledge, and job-readiness support. What sets us apart is our focus on hands-on, learner-centred training, startup incubation, and community-based development.
Our mission is to create inclusive learning spaces that prepare youth and marginalised populations to thrive in today’s economy. Our vision is a society where all young people, regardless of background, have the skills, confidence, and support to lead change through entrepreneurship and innovation. Our main office and training centre is located in Nansana Kabumbi, Wakiso District, Uganda. We also engage in project activities across Kampala, Arua, Adjumani, and other districts.
Vocax programs are open to all youth and adults, particularly targeting refugees, women, school dropouts, and unemployed youth. No prior qualifications are required for most courses.
No. Vocax is a private, youth-led organisation limited by shares. We collaborate with NGOs, development agencies, and international donors to provide quality, affordable, and inclusive training programs.
We offer hands-on Vocational training in fields such as Cosmetology, Catering, Tailoring, Computer Literacy, Hairdressing, Makeup Artistry, Entrepreneurship, Public speaking, Grant Writing and Language training. We also run special short courses and Digital & Entrepreneurship skills bootcamps.
Yes. Upon successful completion of each course, learners receive a Certificate of Completion from Vocax. For selected programs, we also partner with national bodies like the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) to offer recognised certifications.
Our training durations range from 2 weeks to 12 weeks, depending on the course. Each course outline specifies its duration and weekly schedule.
Over 90% of our training sessions are practical, conducted in real-life work environments like salons, kitchens, computer labs, and workshops. Our model ensures learners are job-ready or business-ready immediately after completion.

Do you provide learning materials?
Yes. Most courses include essential learning materials in the fee. However, learners may be required to purchase specific personal items depending on the course.

Yes. We provide business advisory services, mentorship, seed funding opportunities, and incubation support to early-stage entrepreneurs, especially those trained at Vocax. We also welcome aspiring and existing entrepreneurs who want to upgrade their skills, formalise their business, or access new markets.
